Reddwarf formally known as sgs (sun gameserver) or pds (project darkstar) is a modern java server platform. It is meant to be lightweight and extremely fast. Have a look at the project darkstar website.
The BGHosting library contains many useful tools to make reddwarf server development easy. The main task is to let you concentrate on the game content itself. Many other things link administration of your game or an in game support solution will be part of the library.
